Hands-free also banned for minors?

Source: NRS 484B.165 bans handheld voice use and all texting for every driver regardless of age, and its exceptions are occupational (firefighters, emergency and law enforcement personnel, a person reporting a medical emergency, FCC licensees, public-utility employees). Nevada layers no additional hands-free or total phone ban on drivers under 18, so the answer is no: minors are covered by the same universal ban, not a stricter one. Verified Aug 2026

Phone First Offense Fine

A first handheld-phone violation is a $50 civil penalty. The count runs on a 7-year window: a second violation within 7 years is $100 and a third or later one is $250.
