Sr22 Required After

Pennsylvania does not use SR-22 filings. To restore a suspended driving privilege you pay the restoration fee set by law and meet the conditions in the restoration requirements letter PennDOT issues for your case. Where the sanction involved a lapse in coverage, you submit proof of insurance on the insurance company's letterhead showing the policy number, effective and expiration dates, the vehicle identification number, and the company's NAIC number, signed and dated by an official representative of the company. There is no third-party certificate filed with the state on your behalf.

Neither surface mentions SR-22, and PennDOT does not operate an SR-22 program. Statutory framework: 75 Pa.C.S. Chapter 17. Verified Aug 2026
